The Goal of JROTC
The goal of JROTC is to inspire young people to become better citizens. JROTC is here to provide structure and aid in the growth, well-being, and academic success of students. Students in the Oakland JROTC program are known for their academic excellence, but more importantly, they are known for the strong sense of integrity and responsibility they carry with them both on and off of the school campus.

Speed ReadingSpeed reading takes place once a week during PAT. It is a program that is typically used to expand the peripheral vision of athletes, however, we have been using it to not only expand peripheral vision, but also to shorten the time needed to read through passages and questions which can be a useful skill when taking the ACT and other tests.

Physical Training (PT)Every Friday cadets are required to participate in PT. PT days alternate between sports/game days and circuit training days.
